FAQ

What is the shelf life of the meals?

All of our meals are cooked the same day that they are delivered to you. They will keep 5-6 days refrigerated. They can also be frozen to prolong their freshness for several weeks.

When are your meals delivered?

We deliver Meal Prep Ottawa meals every Sunday early in the morning. Your meals will arrive fresh and chilled in an insulated cooler bag with ice gel packs. Once your meals are delivered they should be refrigerated immediately until you are ready to enjoy.

The majority of our deliveries arrive between 7am - 2pm - but should unforeseen circumstances arise - our 'not later than' deadline is 7:00PM - but that is a rare event. If your food is late, please email us at info@mealprepottawa.com We can get an estimate for how long until the food arrives and possibly deliver to an alternate location. Should you be travelling or otherwise unable to safely refrigerate the meals timely - let us know and we can work on alternative delivery options that may exist.

What is the cut off for ordering meals?

We deliver our meals once a week on Sundays. Orders for Sunday delivery must be placed by Thursday 9pm.

How long should the meals be heated?

All of our meal containers are microwave-safe and BPA-free. Open the lid and leave it loosely covered on the container, microwave for 2-4 minutes (if your meal contains any sauce containers, remove those before heating). Heating time will vary depending on the power of your appliance and personal preference. Containers are NOT oven safe but you can put your food on an oven safe dish if you prefer the oven. All meals must be reheated before consumption. Enjoy!

Is there a minimum purchase?

Minimum order is $55.00

What are your delivery / shipping areas?

We currently only deliver to the Ottawa area. Including some parts of the Gatineau & Hull area. All prices include shipping. Deliveries out of our area will be subject to a deliver charge.

Do I need to / Can I return the containers?

For sanitary reasons, we do not accept returned containers. All of the containers provided are reusable (and make great home organizers!). If you do not intend to keep them, we encourage you to please recycle.

What if I am allergic or there is something I do not like in the meals?

There is a comment box available while selecting your meal plan, where you are able to leave us detailed information about allergies and food dislikes.

Which meal plan is right for me?

We offer a wide variety of meal plans that are free of hormones, antibiotics, and non GMO unprocessed whole foods. They are all gluten free. We recommend choosing the plan you can stick to!
